Procter & Gamble, Military Commissaries, and Exchanges Partner for Free Youth Football Camps

Procter & Gamble (P&G) is teaming up with military commissaries and exchanges to bring free youth football camps to military children. Hosted under the ProCamps initiative, these events provide young athletes from military families the opportunity to learn football fundamentals while engaging with professional athletes.

Supporting Military Families Through Sports

This collaboration between P&G, the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), and military exchanges is aimed at fostering community engagement and providing enriching experiences for children living in military households. ProCamps, which has been active for several years, delivers hands-on training sessions taught by notable NFL players, allowing participants to develop their athletic skills in a structured and supportive environment.

Angela Caban, program director for the DeCA’s military families initiative, emphasized the significance of these camps in bringing joy and a sense of normalcy to military children. “These camps not only provide exceptional training but also create lifelong memories for young athletes who may face frequent relocations due to their parents’ service,” she stated.

Retail Partnerships Driving Community Impact

Through in-store promotions at commissaries and exchanges, P&G encourages military patrons to participate in the initiative by purchasing select products tied to the program. This retail-driven partnership exemplifies how FMCG brands can integrate community support into their marketing strategies while enhancing consumer engagement.

Exchange retail leaders also recognize the program’s value in reinforcing connections between military families and the brands that cater to their unique lifestyles. “Supporting initiatives like ProCamps is part of our commitment to serving the military community beyond the retail experience,” noted a spokesperson from the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.

Ongoing Commitment to Military Communities

P&G’s longstanding involvement in military outreach through ProCamps aligns with its broader corporate social responsibility initiatives. By leveraging strategic partnerships with commissaries and exchanges, the company continues to create meaningful engagement opportunities for service families.

The 2024 ProCamps season will span multiple military installations, offering young participants not only football training but also a chance to interact with professional athletes in an inspiring and supportive setting. As FMCG brands explore ways to deepen consumer relationships, programs like ProCamps highlight how community-focused initiatives can
