Ferrero Commits $445M to Expand Brantford Operations, Scaling Canadian Manufacturing Footprint

Ferrero Canada has announced a landmark $445 million investment to significantly expand its operations in Brantford, Ontario, marking the confectionery giant’s largest capital investment in the country to date. The multi-year expansion will establish a new 700,000-square-foot facility adjacent to Ferrero’s existing Brantford plant, effectively doubling its local footprint.

The new facility will enhance Ferrero’s North American supply chain capabilities and support growing demand across key product lines. It will also position Brantford as a strategic manufacturing hub within Ferrero’s global operations. The expansion is expected to create up to 200 new jobs, adding to the approximately 1,100 workers already employed across Ferrero’s Canadian operations.

“Ferrero has been part of the Brantford community for over a decade,” said Alanna Cotton, President & CEO of Ferrero North America. “This investment reflects our continued commitment to business growth, local job creation, and delivering the iconic brands Canadians love.”

Ferrero Canada produces several well-known products at its existing Brantford facility, including Ferrero Rocher, Raffaello, and Kinder treats. With the expansion, the company aims to build additional capacity and flexibility to support its North American and global markets.

The project is supported by all levels of government, with the federal and provincial governments citing the plant’s economic impact and potential for long-term growth. According to Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis, the city worked closely with Ferrero to secure the investment, reflecting Brantford’s strong positioning as a manufacturing centre in Ontario.

Ferrero, which entered the Canadian market in 1974, now operates its North American headquarters in Toronto and has grown its Canadian business steadily in recent years. The Brantford expansion marks a continued evolution of the company’s manufacturing strategy, signaling increased localization and supply chain resilience amid shifting consumer demand and global logistics challenges.

Construction on the site is set to begin later this year, with operations anticipated to commence in 2026. The facility will be designed with sustainability in mind, aligning with Ferrero’s broader environmental goals across its global operations.
