Several key executive appointments across major players in the FMCG sector indicate evolving priorities in consumer health, nutrition, and global expansion strategies.
Nestlé Appoints Greg Behar as CEO of Nestlé Health Science
Nestlé has named Greg Behar as the new CEO of Nestlé Health Science, effective July 1, 2024. Returning to a role he previously held from 2014 to 2021, Behar’s appointment comes as the Swiss multinational sharpens its focus on high-growth areas such as medical nutrition and supplements. His most recent tenure has been as CEO of Unilabs, a leading diagnostic services provider in Europe.
Behar’s reappointment signals Nestlé’s intention to drive stronger integration between health science innovation and core FMCG operations. He takes over from Anna Mohl, who is leaving the company for personal reasons after a year in the role.
Maxwellia Taps Former Bayer Exec to Lead Commercial Strategy
UK-based consumer healthcare firm Maxwellia has brought on board former Bayer Consumer Health executive Gregory Sturge as its new Commercial Director. Sturge’s appointment reflects Maxwellia’s ambition to expand the reach of its over-the-counter (OTC) medicine portfolio, particularly following its pioneering work in Rx-to-OTC switches in the UK market.
Maxwellia has been actively reshaping how consumers access key medications, including its successful launch of Lovima, the first oral contraceptive available without a prescription in the UK. Sturge’s experience in consumer health sales and marketing is expected to support the next phase of growth as the company explores broader distribution and new product categories.
