Ferrero to Invest $445M in Ontario Expansion, Adding 500 Jobs

Global confectionery giant Ferrero is making a major investment in Canadian manufacturing, announcing a $445 million expansion of its Brantford, Ontario facility. The move will significantly boost Ferrero’s production capabilities in North America and add approximately 500 new jobs to the region.

The expansion will include the construction of a new 323,000-square-foot facility adjacent to Ferrero’s existing Brantford plant, which currently produces brands such as Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Bueno, and Tic Tac. This new build brings Ferrero’s total footprint in Brantford to nearly 1 million square feet, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the Canadian market.

“This investment further strengthens our North American presence and advances our global growth strategy,” said Alanna Cotton, President and Chief Business Officer of Ferrero North America. “We’re proud to continue investing in Ontario and creating jobs and economic vitality within the Brantford community.”

Ferrero’s Brantford site has become increasingly important in its global supply chain, particularly for Kinder and Ferrero Rocher brands. The new facility will support the company’s growing demand across Canada and the wider North American market. The investment is also expected to improve manufacturing agility and resilience within the company’s supply network.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford welcomed the announcement, highlighting its impact on local employment and industry innovation. “This is a vote of confidence in our province as a leading destination for advanced manufacturing,” said Ford in a statement. “It’s proof that when you reduce red tape, invest in workers, and create a competitive business environment, global companies will choose Ontario.”

Ferrero currently operates in over 170 countries and has steadily expanded its North American operations in recent years, including a 2023 investment in Bloomington, Illinois. The Brantford development aligns with broader industry trends toward regional production and nearshoring, as manufacturers seek to mitigate supply chain disruptions while optimizing speed to market.

The Brantford expansion is scheduled to begin operations in 2026 and will include both manufacturing and warehousing capabilities. Local hiring is expected to ramp up over the next two years, contributing to economic growth and workforce development in southern Ontario.
