Dev Sharma Steps Down from Mondelez India, Retires from Full-Time Corporate Role

Dev Sharma, Director of Human Resources at Mondelez India, has announced his retirement from full-time corporate work, concluding a distinguished career spanning more than two decades in the FMCG sector. Known for his impactful leadership and people-first approach, Sharma has played a critical role in shaping the talent strategy of one of India’s leading snacking companies.

During his six-year tenure at Mondelez India, Sharma served as the Head of Human Resources for India and the ISC cluster, supporting a workforce of over 3,500 employees across commercial and manufacturing operations. He was instrumental in advancing several organization-wide transformations, championing leadership development, and embedding culture-forward initiatives that strengthened employee engagement and operational agility.

Sharma joined Mondelez in 2018 after a successful stint at PepsiCo, where he held multiple HR leadership roles across India, Thailand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. With his international exposure and deep understanding of organizational behavior, Sharma brought a future-forward HR vision to Mondelez, enhancing talent development and diversity in the organization.

A Mondelez spokesperson expressed gratitude for Sharma’s contributions, stating, “Dev leaves behind a strong legacy of leadership, transformation, and a deep belief in the power of people and culture.”

Sharma’s departure comes as Mondelez continues to prioritize organizational agility and talent resilience in a competitive FMCG environment increasingly shaped by digital evolution and changing consumer behavior. His leadership in aligning HR functions with long-term business growth has been widely acknowledged within the industry.

Though leaving his full-time role, Sharma has indicated plans to remain engaged with the talent and HR community in an advisory capacity. His continued involvement is expected to benefit industry stakeholders navigating the complexities of workforce transformation and culture-building in large-scale consumer organizations.

Leadership succession details at Mondelez India are yet to be officially announced, though internal sources suggest a strong bench of talent positioned to lead HR into its next chapter.
