T. Marzetti Appoints Tanya Berman as Retail President to Drive Growth Strategy

T. Marzetti Company has named Tanya Berman as President of its Retail division, signaling a renewed focus on innovation, brand leadership, and category expansion within the packaged food sector. The appointment underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating growth across its portfolio of widely recognized brands.

Berman brings over 25 years of experience in brand-building, marketing, and general management to the role. Her career includes senior leadership positions at industry heavyweights such as Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, and most recently, as President of Retail at The Nature’s Bounty Co. (now part of Nestlé Health Science). Her background in leading large-scale brand initiatives and launching successful new products positions her to steer T. Marzetti’s retail arm toward sustained growth amid shifting consumer preferences.

In her new role, Berman will oversee the strategic and operational direction of T. Marzetti’s retail portfolio, which includes well-known brands such as Marzetti® salad dressings and dips, Sister Schubert’s® frozen rolls, and New York Bakery® frozen breads. Her mandate is to build upon the retail segment’s momentum by fostering innovation and enhancing brand relevance in highly competitive grocery categories.

This leadership change comes as the company continues to invest in category leadership and expand its footprint in refrigerated and frozen aisles. T. Marzetti’s parent company, Lancaster Colony Corporation, has increasingly prioritized retail performance as a key driver of growth, particularly in light of evolving shopper trends favoring convenient, high-quality at-home food solutions.

Berman’s appointment is expected to sharpen the company’s focus on data-driven marketing, consumer insights, and digital engagement to better align with modern retail dynamics and grow market share across its branded portfolio.

Her extensive cross-category experience, particularly in health and wellness and consumer packaged goods (CPG), is expected to support innovation initiatives and broaden the reach of T. Marzetti’s core offerings.

Berman holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Cornell University.
