Ginnity Clinches Third as Fordham Finishes Seventh at Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational
Fordham men’s golf team wrapped up the two-day Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational with a seventh-place finish out of 16 programs, led by a standout performance from sophomore P.J. Ginnity, who tied for third individually.
The tournament, hosted at Northampton Country Club in Bath, Pennsylvania, featured 16 teams competing over three rounds. Fordham posted team scores of 291, 297, and 298 across the two-day event, concluding with a total of 886. The Rams were just 14 strokes behind tournament winners Lafayette, who secured the title with a score of 872. Rider (876) and Lehigh (877) rounded out the top three teams.
Ginnity was a consistent force throughout the event, carding rounds of 70, 69, and 73 to finish at 212, just four strokes off the lead. His five-under performance is his career-best finish and marks his second top-five placement of the spring season. His steady iron play and putter kept him firmly in contention from the opening round.
Freshman E.J. Smith also recorded a solid showing, finishing in a tie for 32nd after shooting 74, 76, and 74 (224 total). Senior Nicholas Manning concluded his tournament T-45th with scores of 77-74-77 (228), while Sebastian Mueller (230) and Max Montminy (232) rounded out Fordham’s scoring lineup.
The seventh-place team finish and Ginnity’s top-three individual result reflect positive momentum for Fordham, especially as the squad charts progress ahead of key spring fixtures. With Ginnity showing season-best form and underclassmen like Smith contributing steadily, the Rams are developing key depth in advance of upcoming conference play.
Fordham returns to tournament action on April 19–21 at The Yale Spring Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut. All eyes will be on whether Ginnity can continue his upward trajectory as the Rams aim for improved team results ahead of postseason competition.
