Nestlé Waters Names Sophie Dubois as New Managing Director for UK and Ireland

Nestlé Waters has appointed Sophie Dubois as Managing Director of its UK and Ireland operations, solidifying leadership at a pivotal moment for the bottled water category. Dubois succeeds Michel Beneventi, who departs after five years to take on a new leadership role within Nestlé Group.

Bringing over two decades of experience with Nestlé, Dubois most recently led Nestlé Waters in France and Benelux, overseeing established brands such as Vittel, Contrex, and Hépar. Her appointment comes as the UK bottled water market undergoes continued recovery from pandemic-induced disruptions, alongside increasing focus on sustainability and health-driven beverage choices among consumers.

“The UK and Ireland markets offer exciting opportunities for growth and innovation in hydration,” said Dubois. “I look forward to working with our talented teams and partners to drive sustainable business and inspire healthier lifestyles.”

Nestlé Waters’ UK portfolio includes household brands such as Buxton and Nestlé Pure Life, with operations supported by a major bottling plant in the Lake District. Under Beneventi’s tenure, the business bolstered its environmental credentials, notably through initiatives aimed at increasing recycled PET usage and engaging in water stewardship programs.

Dubois steps into the role with a background in corporate strategy, marketing, and general management across multiple product categories and European markets. Her insight into category dynamics and sustainability will be critical as FMCG players respond to regulatory changes and shifting consumer priorities.

On her appointment, Nestlé UK & Ireland CEO Richard Watson commented: “Sophie brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership. Her perspective will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our water business in a competitive and sustainability-conscious marketplace.”

Her arrival underscores Nestlé Waters’ ongoing commitment to sustainable growth, innovation, and strong brand positioning. As FMCG businesses seek to align with ESG targets and meet rising consumer expectations, leadership moves like Dubois’s signal the strategic importance of hydration within a modern, health-focused product portfolio.
